How we work on site

Can you work in an occupied building?
Yes — most of what we do is in live, tenanted buildings. We hold the electrical accreditations, insurance and RAMS to work on occupied commercial sites and at height, and we plan around building management restrictions, trading hours and reception operations rather than expecting the building to work around us. Account Technologies' Marble Arch office stayed open throughout a nine-day installation.
Do you install the cabling and power as well?
Yes, in-house. That's the difference between us and a security installer: the containment, the cabling, the fused spurs and the electrical certification are all done by our own engineers on the same programme, so there's no second contractor to schedule and nobody to point at if something doesn't work. At Leadenhall we went further still and delivered the whole fit-out — desking, structured cabling, Wi-Fi, connectivity and firewalls.
Can you take over a system somebody else installed?
Often, yes — and we have. Refeyn and Account Technologies both came to us after a previous provider had left them with something that didn't work. We'll survey what's there, tell you honestly what condition it's in and what's worth keeping, and quote either ongoing management or replacement, whichever is actually justified.
Can you handle a rollout across several sites at once?
Yes. Softcat is nine offices from Marlow to Glasgow on one platform; Refeyn is three Oxford sites with the US to follow. Cloud management is what makes that practical — every site lands in the same console, so a national estate is administered like a single building.
What does “managed” actually mean?
We hold the platform on your behalf: users and credentials, firmware, device health, permission changes and the joiners-and-leavers process. Your team asks for a change; they don't administer the system. Refeyn is the clearest example of that arrangement in practice.
