The challenge
Belmond is one of the world's most prestigious luxury hotel brands — part of the LVMH group, home to UK properties including The Cadogan Hotel in Chelsea and Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire. The access control systems in place at both properties were ageing, unreliable and entirely out of step with the brand's standards. Mechanical key systems and legacy card readers meant the guest experience was being undermined at the most fundamental level — the door.
What we did
SEG Core specified and installed a Verkada access control solution across both UK properties. Sleek, minimal door readers were deployed across all controlled entry points — guest lifts, back-of-house corridors, service entrances and secure staff areas — with cloud-managed access policies configured per role and per zone. Integration with Belmond's property management systems keeps credentials aligned with guest check-in and check-out without manual intervention.
The outcome
Both properties now operate a unified, cloud-managed access control infrastructure consistent with the Belmond brand standard. Staff report the system is significantly easier to manage, the guest experience at controlled access points is frictionless, and the facilities team has full visibility across both properties from a single platform with a complete access audit trail.
