The challenge
Refeyn is a high-growth life science technology company operating across three sites in Oxford. When they came to us they were frustrated: their previous security provider had left them with an unreliable, poorly supported system that was not fit for purpose. As Refeyn scaled rapidly — opening new labs, introducing mezzanine floors and planning expansion into the USA — they needed a security partner who could keep pace.
What we did
SEG Core designed and delivered a full Verkada ecosystem across all three sites, tailored to the layout and security requirements of each. We worked hand-in-hand with Refeyn's construction teams during live building works at Littlemore Site 2, adapting the deployment schedule without missing a beat. The final deployment comprised more than 50 cameras and 35 access control doors, all centrally managed through Verkada's cloud platform — and when Refeyn is ready to bring its US sites online, those locations enrol into the same console with no additional infrastructure.

The outcome
Refeyn now has a single, modern security platform giving complete visibility across all three Oxford locations from any device. When a controller failure caused a brief outage, SEG Core had an engineer on site the same day — exactly the responsive support Refeyn had been missing. Following the Oxford rollout, Refeyn confirmed SEG Core as their preferred partner for forthcoming US deployments.
